Patrick Mahomes: High Ankle

Mahomes is considered “week to week,” but quarterbacks can play through a high ankle sprain relatively well. Most might point to the Chiefs not needing a win as they’ve locked up a playoff spot. The counterargument is that there’s still pressure on them to keep the #1 seed and home-field advantage. Could Mahomes sit? Sure. But Mahomes’ current attitude is telling.

Projected Return: Week 16-17

A.J. Brown: Ankle

Brown was drug down into an eversion/high ankle mechanism. While these can be extremely painful, they don’t result in as much missed time as a true high ankle sprain. As long as Brown is at practice this week, he likely plays.

Projected Return: Week 16

Sincere McCormick: High Ankle

Typically, these result in 2-4 weeks missed. Even if he returns, the reinjury risk is high, and the juice won’t be worth the squeeze.

Projected Return: Week 17-18

Jaylen Waddle: Knee

Waddle looks to have injured his knee—potentially his MCL. Even though coach Mike McDaniel said the injury is relatively minor and won’t require surgery, even bringing up surgery to deny it will happen doesn’t bode well for Waddle. Plan to be without him.

Projected Return: Week 18/TBD

Alvin Kamara: Groin

Groin injuries in RBs Kamara’s age are never good. Don’t expect Kamara to go in Week 16 as of now.

Projected Return: Week 17

Zach Ertz: Concussion

Ertz is dealing with a concussion, and managers should expect to be without him next week.

Projected Return: Week 17/TBD
