2024 Week 15 NFL Fantasy Injury Preview

Follow Dr. Edwin Porras on his fantasy football account here and see what his day job is in the Denver area

Jonathon Brooks: Knee

Brooks went down with a non-contact injury in his right knee, which is the same knee as his ACL repair. Coach Dave Canales said Brooks has pain in his knee, and the team will do a full battery of tests this week. Now more than ever, I’m convinced Brooks had some sort of setback or complications post-op. The unfortunate reality is that Brooks either tweaked the knee or re-tore the ACL completely. Don’t expect him back this season.

Note: Raheem Blackshear was hospitalized with a ribs injury. So Chuba Hubbard is all that’s left in Carolina.

Projected Return: 2025

Derek Carr: Left Hand/Wrist

Carr landed on his left wrist and reportedly fractured his hand. He’ll be out the rest of 2024.

Projected Return: 2025

Aiden O’Connell: Knee

Seen with an air cast on, so a fracture/dislocation is likely.

Projected Return: 2025

Isaac Guerendo: Foot

Guerendo sustained a foot sprain, and depending on the severity of the sprain, he could be out anywhere from one week to several weeks. The MRI will tell the full story, but given the 49ers' lead at the time of the injury, there’s a chance this was a cautionary move, and Guerendo plays through this issue.

In the worst-case scenario, Guerendo has a legit Lisfranc sprain and needs 3-4 weeks to recover. Unfortunately, the severity cannot be determined at this moment.

Projected Return: Week 15-16

Bucky Irving: Hip/Back

Irving tried to play through this issue, which kept him out of practice this week, and it backfired (pun intended). At this point, even if he’s active next week, the chances are low, he’ll see a full workload or be as effective as we’re used to.

Note: If you’re a contender with bench space, add Hollywood Brown, who can return by the fantasy football playoffs.
