2024 Week 14 NFL Fantasy Injury Preview

Follow Dr. Edwin Porras on his fantasy football account here and see what his day job is in the Denver area

Note: If you’re a contender with bench space, add Hollywood Brown, who can return by the fantasy football playoffs.

DeVonta Smith: Hamstring

The Eagles are traditionally conservative with injuries - especially hamstring related injuries. Smith will likely step into a semi full-time role with Dallas Goedert out and is worth a start in most leagues. The caveat is that in DFS he’s on a cash game until we see he can be full tilt without a setback. In terms of target share, he should be back in the saddle.

Projected Return: Week 14

Malik Nabers: Groin/Hip Flexor

Nabers’ “groin” injury that cropped up in Week 12 is *likely* the same issue he’s currently dealing with now labeled more specifically as a hip flexor injury. These injuries are still of the soft tissue variety and now that it’s worsened over the last few weeks, it would be surprising to see Nabers back soon. Even though younger players can bounce back more quickly, these injuries can knock athletes out for at least a few weeks.

Plan to be without Nabers even into the fantasy playoffs.

Projected Return: Week 16/TBD

Mike Evans: Hamstring/Calf

Evans has been fighting off soft tissue injuries for half the year and is still producing numbers. At this point he’s a high risk/moderate-to-high reward type of player. If you bench him, you’d better have a player with an equally high ceiling to replace his production.

Projected Return: Week 14

Ladd McConkey: Knee

As expected, McConkey was limited all week. As a result, he’s at high risk for reinjury but overall should be in his usual role.

Projected Return: Week 14

Dalton Kincaid: PCL/Bursa (?)

Kincaid has been practicing all week on a limited basis and even though it is a little early, he could return from this presumed PCL issue. His best comp is Sam LaPorta from Week 12 who had just 19 receiving yards and was limited overall. Reinjury rate for Kincaid is also a concern. Overall, he’s not a must-start by any means.

Projected Return: Week 14
