2024 Week 13 NFL Fantasy Injury Preview

JK Dobbins: Knee (MCL?)

Dobbins was taken down awkwardly and looked to sprain his MCL. These injuries are painful and can result in time missed, like DK Metcalf earlier this season. Given Dobbins’ history with this specific knee, there’s a decent shot the Chargers are extra cautious and hold Dobbins out the next couple of weeks.

Projected Return: Week 15-16

Brian Robinson: “Low” Ankle

Robinson attempted to return after suffering what looked to be a “low” ankle sprain similar to Isiah Pacheco’s from earlier this year. Given that fact its not likely there’s a fracture to his ankle. Still, this could be a moderate to severe “low” ankle sprain which can lead to under performance and/or missed time.

Projected Return: Week 14-15

David Montgomery: Shoulder

Monty is dealing with a shoulder issue that may have occurred on the lin ked play. With that said, the Lions say he’s fine and that there are ‘bigger fish to fry”. The only trepidation is that even if he plays Thursday, he’ll be moderately volatile.

Projected Return: Week 13

Romeo Doubs: Concussion

Typically WRs miss 0.52 games after a concussion, but it’ll be tough to clear the protocol by Thursday for Doubs, so plan to be without him. Add in the fact that, from 2018 to 2023, NFL WRs off a concussion saw a massive 34% dip in FF production and you get a solid fade overall.

Projected Return: Week 14/TBD

Austin Ekeler: Concussion

Ekeler sustained a scary concussion on Sunday, the third of his career. The silver lining is that each concussion has been three years apart, which, in theory, mitigates cumulative effects. Still, the average NFL RB misses an average of 1.2 games, so it’s worth monitoring his status this week.

Projected Return: Week 13/TBD

Josh Downs: AC Sprain?

Downs is reportedly a long shot to play in Week 13. This makes sense, given the AC joint mechanism.

Projected Return: Week 15-16/TBD

Gardner Minshew: Shoulder

As I’m writing this, the Raiders confirmed Minshew fractured his clavicle. He’s out for the season.

Projected Return: 2025
