2024 Week 8 NFL Fantasy Injury Preview

Follow Dr. Edwin Porras on his fantasy football account here and see what his day job is in the Denver area

Bucky Irving: Toe

Ir ing is coming back from a toe issue but the closest data available to compare is non high ankle sprains. Which are rarely serious. Week Winner Rate and performance differentials are hardly impacted. Start him with minimal concern.

Projected Return: Week 8

Jayden Daniels: Ribs

It seems that based on reports Daniels is legitimately close to returning meaning the severity of this injury is not as severe as it could have been. Still, the Commanders will want to be careful giving injections for Daniels to play as this can progress from a pain perspective.

In single QB leagues, there are better options than Daniels. In SF leagues, he’s worth waiting on if you have another option

Projected Return: Week 8-9

Deebo Samuel: Pneumonia

Deebo is on track to play in Week 8 and the reality is there’s not much we can expect (or not expect) given that this isn’t a common situation. Given the state of injuries and bye weeks, you might have to slot him in. Just know he’s highly volatile.

Projected Return: Week 8

Tua Tagovailoa: Concussion

You’ve known the drill here for a while now. He’s at high risk for yet another concussion. Still, start his skill players confidently.

Projected Return: Week 8

DK Metcalf: MCL Sprain

MCL injuries can be painful but aren’t debilitating. Especially for freaks of nature like Metcalf. Given he’s not the most agile athlete in the world and needs mostly straight line speed and power to win, start Metcalf everywhere with only mild volatility.

Projected Return: Week 8-9
