NFL Picks
Week 16 brings a host of intriguing options to boost your lineup and deliver big results. Here are the top plays to lock in.
Jaxon Smith-Njigba (WR, SEA)
Fantasy Score (Standard) — MORE
PrizePicks: 14.5
Fantasy Points: 15.9
Smith-Njigba has been on a tear since the bye (and before the bye too). He has surpassed his current projection against a wide range of matchups in four of the five games since the bye. He has, also, done this without relying on touchdowns (scored a touchdown in half of the games he has scored more than the current projection). Minnesota has been more of a plus matchup during this same time. From Ryan Heath in his weekly advanced matchup article: “The Vikings lead the league in the deployment rate of two-high looks (65.3%), doing so at least 57% of the time in 12 of their 14 games. Smith-Njigba has averaged +40.2% more FP/RR against two-high over the past two seasons…” Sounds like a setup for a monster week from Smith-Njigba. BONUS! Look at Smtih-Njiba’s Receiving Yards projection too! 62.5 yards at PrizePicks with a Fantasy Points projection of 73.2 yards.
Malik Nabers (WR, NYG)
Fantasy Score (Standard) — MORE
PrizePicks: 15.0
Fantasy Points: 15.8
I am including Nabers just so I can quote Joe Dolan: “No, Drew Lock is not good. He might even be worse than bad! But at least he targets Nabers.” Atlanta’s corners have really struggled for much of the season, so the matchup is good no matter when Nabers lines up. Nabers has seen double-digit targets in nine games and should see that total grow to ten this week. That sounds like a recipe for a great week to me.
Isiah Pacheco (RB, KC)
Rush+Rec Yards (Standard) — LESS
PrizePicks: 65.5
Fantasy Points: 58.8
I am an optimist at heart and like to root for players to hit the MORE on their projections. Unfortunately, Pacheco has not looked the same since coming back from injury. Houston has been solid against the run this season (4.3 yards per carry), but Pacheco has not been involved enough in the passing game to make up for a lack of efficiency. Pacheco will have to command more than 16 touches to have a shot at surpassing this projection, and he hasn’t done that in the last three weeks.
Bijan Robinson (RB, ATL)
Fantasy Score (Standard) — MORE
PrizePicks: 19.5
Fantasy Points: 20.3
Even with Kirk Cousins' lackluster play, Robinson has been a force this season. In seven of the last nine games, Robinson has surpassed his current projection, and now he has the Giants with a rookie quarterback beside him (Michael Penix Jr.). The Giants allow 4.9 yards per carry and have allowed the second-most rushing yards this season. Even if Penix is not an upgrade over Cousins (which is tough to imagine at this point), the matchup is too tantalizing.
Rhamondre Stevenson (RB, NE)
Rush Yards (Standard) — MORE
PrizePicks: 49.5
Fantasy Points: 61.8
Stevenson has produced more than this projection in four of the last five weeks. The Buffalo Bills are giving up 4.7 yards per carry. The biggest roadblock to Stevenson hitting this is that Buffalo may put this game out of reach early. Stevenson has needed at least 13 carries to hit his yardage totals. In the one game out of the last five that he did not hit the yardage projection, he had only 8 carries.

James Conner (RB, ARZ)
Receiving Yards (Demon) — MORE
PrizePicks: 24.5
Fantasy Points: 32.3
Conner is killing it this season, finishing as an RB2 or better in all but three games this season. In four of the last five games, Conner has gone for at least 28 receiving yards. Carolina has been a great matchup all season long for running backs, but their ineptitude at stopping the run has sometimes led to fewer opportunities for pass-catching. Still, I am not betting against Conner at the rate he is currently going.
Jonnu Smith (TE, MIA)
Receiving Yards (Demon) — MORE
PrizePicks: 59.5
Fantasy Points: 64.3
Another player who has been incredibly hot as of late, Smith had a three-game streak of going for at least 87 yards. His yardage totals have gone down some in the last two weeks (48 and 44 yards), but the potential absence of Jaylen Waddle should give Smith some more opportunities.
The 49ers lead the NFL in Cover 3 rate (51%) over the last four games.
— Fantasy Points Data (@FantasyPtsData) December 20, 2024
Jonnu Smith: 3.77 YPRR
Tyreek Hill: 2.68 YPRR
Alternatively, the Dolphins have faced the most two-high (57.6%) — defenses often switch to it.

Khalil Shakir (WR, BUF)
Receiving Yards (Goblin) — MORE
PrizePicks: 29.5
Fantasy Points: 59.3
Shakir has only finished below this projection once the entire season. This was in Week 6 and coincided with his lowest snap share of the season. Shakir has, also, not seen fewer than 7 targets since that Week 6 game. New England is a plus matchup for wide receivers. The Patriots allow +3.3 schedule-adjusted FPG to the slot position.
