The 49ers and Dobbs agreed to a contract Monday, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports.

Dobbs appeared in 13 games during the 2023 season, completing 262 of 417 pass attempts (62.8 percent) for 2,464 yards, 13 touchdowns and 10 interceptions while adding 77 carries for 421 yards and six more touchdowns.

Coach Kevin O'Connell said Friday that Dobbs will serve as the Vikings' No. 2 quarterback behind starter Nick Mullens in Sunday's game in Detroit.

Dobbs (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Packers and will serve as the emergency quarterback, Craig Peters of the Vikings' official site reports.

Coach Kevin O'Connell announced Thursday that Jaren Hall, not Dobbs, will be Nick Mullens' backup for Saturday's game against the Bengals.

Dobbs completed 22 of 32 passes for 185 yards with one touchdown and four interceptions in the Vikings' 12-10 loss to the Bears on Monday night. He also rushed twice for 11 yards.

Dobbs completed 20 of 32 passes for 221 yards with one touchdown and one interception and rushed eight times for 21 yards and another score in the Vikings' 21-20 loss to the Broncos on Sunday night. He also committed three fumbles, losing one and recovering the other two.

Dobbs completed 23 of 34 passes for 268 yards, one touchdown and no interceptions in Sunday's 27-19 win over the Saints. He added eight rushes for 44 yards and an additional score.

Vikings head coach Kevin O'Connell said Monday that Dobbs will receive all the first-team reps in practice this week with the expectation that he starts Sunday against the Saints, Kevin Seifert of ESPN.com reports.

Dobbs took over for an injured Jaren Hall (concussion) after the first series in Sunday's win at Atlanta and went 20-of-30 passing for 158 yards for two touchdowns. He also had seven carries for 66 yards and a touchdown. Dobbs led the Vikings on a game-winning touchdown drive with two minutes and eight seconds left.

Dobbs will be Minnesota's backup quarterback behind Jaren Hall against the Falcons on Sunday, Ben Goessling of the Star Tribune reports.

Minnesota head coach Kevin O'Connell said that Dobbs, whom the Vikings acquired from the Cardinals on Tuesday, isn't expected to start Sunday's game at Atlanta but could be available to play, Rob Maaddi of the Associated Press reports.

The Cardinals traded Dobbs to the Vikings on Tuesday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.

Coach Jonathan Gannon said Monday that Dobbs won't start Sunday's game in Cleveland, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.

Dobbs completed 25 of 37 pass attempts for 208 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions while adding 26 rushing yards and another score on six attempts in Sunday's 31-24 loss to the Ravens.

Dobbs is in line to start Sunday's game against Baltimore with the Cardinals listing Kyler Murray (knee) as doubtful for Week 8, Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com reports.
